Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Executive Director of Marketing is responsible for providing executive leadership and management of AG's marketing and communications plans. This role is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to an exciting chapter in American Greetings growth and success. The executive will join our leadership team and bring proven success in consumer and trade marketing. The executive director of Marketing will drive AG's effort to position itself as the industry leader and to achieve its revenue goals.

Position responsibilities:
- Own marketing strategy development, planning and execution to strengthen leadership position in the industry
- Lead marketing team responsible for overall results across: company brand, customer relationship management strategy and execution, sales promotions, integrated cross channel product marketing campaigns, marketing communications and public relations , social media marketing, and other emerging media and platforms
- Lead company brand efforts and align marketing strategy and execution to achieve high level goals and objectives
- Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategy across all platforms, including ecommerce business.
- Drive sales promotions strategy across all retail channels of distribution designed to meet and exceed retailer objectives and maximize our ability to reach consumers
- Manage overall marketing communication strategy, including branding, social media and public relations.
- Trade marketing responsibilities include development and implementation of national trade advertising campaigns, national and regional trade events, and support to the sales organization throughout the selling cycle
- Build, coach, and empower the marketing team to deliver results
- Champion and facilitate team and capability development and attainment of objectives
- Identify and optimize individual employees' performance, engagement, motivation and long-term potential
- Identify and optimize key marketing partnerships and vendors to enable marketing team to meet and exceed objectives
- Create and implement marketing key performance indicators, including ROI for key investments
- Administrate the marketing budget at or below plan targets

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 10-years of related marketing experience with increasing levels of responsibility and a minimum of 5 years in ecommerce and digital marketing experience.

Required skills and abilities:
- Successful track record creating, leading and integrating marketing strategy
- Demonstrated passion and expertise across strategic marketing practice areas including brand positioning, public relations, customer relationship management, product marketing, social media, and thought leadership in changing or emerging markets
- Mastery of social media strategy design and execution
- Proven leadership track record and history of building top performing teams by recruiting and retaining talent and aligning external agency partners to deliver results

Bachelor degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
