Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Responsible for Global Procurement of materials, parts, equipment or services to sustain daily production and maintain inventory without interruption to plan. Develops supplier relationships for competitive advantage while teaming with suppliers, product teams and production to achieve best value.
Develops Strategic Sourcing Plans, including budget and price forecasts.
Places orders in a timely and cost effective manner. Manages Blanket Purchase Orders.
Preparation and evaluation of bids, proposals, negotiations, etc.
Negotiates best value with suppliers, including favorable terms and conditions.
Maintains timely and accurate ERP system information as it relates to lead times, purchase order creation / release / receiving and lot sizes.
Establishes cost improvement programs with suppliers.
Provides support and information to customers, internal and external.
Creates, audits, analyzes and follows-through with suppliers for mutual goals and measures.
Monitors contractual obligations for compliance.
Researches and recommends vendors. Participates in supplier qualification program.
Resolves disputes with vendors.
Participates in the design, development, and implementation of purchasing processes, work practices and information systems. Cost Modeling
Monitors supplier performance
Coaching and development of direct reports
Provides support and information to both internal and external customers.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance or related fields. 10+ years procurement experience. Experience with integrated purchasing/MRP information systems (preferably PRMS), CPM or CPIM Certification desired.
