Description
Summary: Primary responsibility is to develop strategic and tactical plans to acquire new domestic and international business, products, markets and margin enhancement. The Product Manager works with domestic and international District and Regional Managers to understand the needs of customers globally.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
o Drives the ownership, internalization and execution of the brand Goal Deployment Program in key industrial target markets.
o Develops strategic and tactical plans on new business and product development for the Business Unit through VOC.
o Estimates market size and growth, as well as additional focus markets, through appropriate data.
o Provides top management with market value estimates, conditions and economic market forecasts.
o Determines product requirements and works with sales and engineering toward implementation.
o Prioritizes new product opportunities and recommends development plans.
o Surveys present and projected needs of customer, working closely with top Sales and Engineering executives, sets plan for penetration of existing market or new markets with existing or new products.
o Provides the direction/focus for the development and execution of sales promotion and advertising plans, including all support literature.
o Ensures sales plans, strategies, objectives and policies have strong alignment with our broad marketing objectives.
o Reviews markets on a regular basis and provides written analyses of market share and competitive strategies worldwide.
o Based on field input, write marketing product specification for the most effective product solutions for each unique market.
o Product, financial, and strategic planning of assigned industrial product line(s), including financial justifications of new products and programs.
o Manage product revenue, margins, and profitability by increasing market share, controlling product costs, and establishing maximum market- based product pricing.
o Develop sales training materials for all channels .
o Identify and target key competition, globally and geographically.
o Will be responsible for implementing product launches globally.
o Fosters relationships with customers and end-users; understands product requirements as well as build in-depth customer/product understanding.
o Any other tasks which may be requested
Qualifications
Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or Marketing. MBA is strongly preferred.
Experience:
o Industrial equipment or related industry experience will also be considered.
o Background of 5-9 years in finance, manufacturing, communications, marketing, sales, and/or engineering in the positive displacement pump industry is required.
o Specific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses:
o Training or participation in Six Sigma and/or other continuous process improvement initiatives.
o Computer experience/knowledge (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
o Strong work ethics.
o Strong communication skills
o Must be comfortable traveling to geographic locations where customs and cultures are unfamiliar. Travel required estimated being about 30 percent.
