We are seeking a Production Supervisor in our Elyria, Ohio manufacturing plant. This position will Supervise and manage all functions in the production of 3M products in a safe and economic fashion. Responsible for direct supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, employee morale and productivity. This position will have, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

* Provides training and instructions on operating procedures
* Reviews, updates and communicates product standards
* Ensures a safe working environment through formal inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment
* Ensure employees receive training as specified
* Provides effective communication to employees through crew meetings, electronic mail, etc
* Completes housekeeping audit and job safety analysis on a regular basis
* Provide direct supervision to production and/or hourly employees
* Plans daily work schedules, determines priorities, allocates work assignments, and regulates production process in order to meet specific daily production requirements
* Monitors production rates, yields, and quality of products on a daily basis and provides feedback to employees on results
* Organizes and reviews changeovers with appropriate staff to minimize downtime. Addresses production issues such as scheduling, quality, run time, etc.
* May make process suggestions to improve quality and reduce costs
* Implements cost reduction programs to ensure the efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment
* Understanding of DOT and Hazardous Material Regulations
* 1 of 4 working on a 4 crew rotating shift to cover a 24/7/52 operation

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED

Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing experience

Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Knowledge and experience of process equipment

Leadership, communication, problem solving, mechanical, computer, administrative, and short-term planning skills

Understanding of regulatory and corporate requirements for environmental health and safety
