Position Summary: The classroom substitute teacher is an early childhood professional who can implement planned program activities or work as an assistant teacher under the direction of the lead teacher. Must be able to provide for the health, safety, nurturing and general welfare of the children. Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience working with young children in a group setting. Self -confident, flexible, emotionally mature adult. Able to work with staff, student aides, parents and children in a positive manner. Agile and physically able to lift 40 pounds and to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to pass a criminal backround check, including fingerprinting. Preferred Qualifications: Professional training in early childhood education is preferred. Preferred Multi-Cultural Experience: Demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment.
