Business Development Finance Director




Role and Responsibility:

  • Provides financial oversight, leadership and support to the Business Development function
  • Takes a leadership role in the analysis of specific RFP opportunities, creating response strategies, and reviewing proposals
  • Manage the development of return on investment (ROI) analyses
  • Plays a strategic role in leading, planning and providing support for due diligence activities across all functional areas of any potential transaction; compiles due diligence findings, integration plans and supports market research required by department in order to enable informed decision-making for M&A transactions
  • Performs modeling and financial analysis of on-going transactions
  • Conducts detailed target analysis and financial modeling using KPIs and other variables in order to estimate revenue and profitability of target over a multi-year projection period
  • Provide timely, accurate comprehensive and transparent financial reporting including, but not limited to, operating statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key business reports as required in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and statutory requirements
  • Support the strategic planning process by providing long term financial projections reflecting the assumptions outlined in the strategic plan. Provides insight into the risk sensitivity associated with the current and future business drivers
  • Responsible for ensuring all departmental policies and procedures are in compliance with Model Audit Rule requirements for Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting
  • Perform ad hoc and trending analysis – both proactively and as requested
  • Develop, implement and modify processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Utilize key accounting and reporting experience and knowledge to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of general ledger account activity in accordance with GAAP or STAT as applicable
  • Assess internal controls and make appropriate changes to ensure compliance with MAR, regulatory and other organization requirements
  • Perform any other job related instructions as required


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent graduate degree is preferred
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in accounting/finance, to include a minimum of five (5) years of management experience, is required
  • Managed care or healthcare experience is preferred

Required Competencies / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Familiar with variety of financial analysis concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experienced and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Familiar with variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT)
  • Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, as wells as external audit management
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others including the development, motivation and rewarding of staff
  • Knowledgeable of internal control framework
  • Decision making/problem solving skills
  • Critical listening and thinking skills analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented

Licensure / Certification:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent certification is preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Perform reasonable travel, up to 20-30% to fulfill the duties of the position
