  •   This is a pool is for Food Service Helper within the Cincinnati Public School district - Employment status will be determined based on district need.

    Job Goal:

    • To provide service to create a well-organized, smooth functioning elementary or secondary lunchroom.
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Assisting in the preparation of main dishes and desserts.
    • Preparation of vegetables as needed.
    • Making sandwiches, salads, hot breads, etc.
    • Operating kitchen and serving equipment, such as mixers, slicers, dish machines or vending machines.
    • Setting up serving counters and serving food.
    • Washing dishes and utensils
    • Cleaning equipment and areas within the kitchen and lunchroom.
    • Acting as cashier when needed.
    • Filling in as temporary substitute for higher level work as needed.
    • Performs other task as assigned and/or required.
    Skills / Essential Functions:
    • Ability to work steadily in a kitchen where food is prepared in quantity to meet exacting schedules.
    • Neatness, dependability, personal cleanliness and good physical condition are a must.
    • Functional reading, mathematics, oral and written communication skills (preferred).
    • Ability to arrive at work as scheduled and when needed.
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Probation Period:
    • (6)Six months

    Training & Experience
    • Work experience in kitchen / school lunchroom preferred

    Reports to:
    • Supervisor
