Production Line Lead - 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible to lead, direct, guide, and train assigned production employees. Clearly and effectively communicate expectations for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Culture. Set a good example and reinforce all work rules and company policies.

Job Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrate all necessary and assigned leadership responsibilities
  • Assign and ensure line operations during scheduled shift
  • Follow production schedules to ensure order completion during allotted timeframes
  • Communicate clear expectations to employees and follow up on employee concerns
  • Maintain employee and product safety at all times
  • Maintain product quality at all times
  • Monitor material usages
  • Complete shift hand-offs with outgoing leaders
  • Inspection of material storage areas (both physically and systematically)
  • Ensure labor compliance to Playbooks and make adjustments as needed
  • Supply necessary shift paperwork to key employees
  • Label and monitor line waste
  • Update and maintain electronic and manual performance boards hourly
  • Review labor for planned schedule
  • Ensure plant cleanliness, 5S compliance, and GMP practices at all times
  • Count, sticker, and return un-used materials to warehouse
  • Ensure all WIP, materials, and waste is accounted for and labeled
  • Review, reconcile, and submit scrap reports in reporting tools
  • Complete, review, and submit all necessary paperwork
  • Address and/or escalate all employee-related concerns on a timely basis

Required Competencies & Knowledge:

Knowledge of:

  • Hearthside Performance Systems (HPS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs, production processes, products, and confidentiality.

Skill in:

  • Trouble-shooting
  • Self-motivation
  • Handling employee-related concerns

Ability to:

  • Effectively build and lead a team
  • Prioritize and complete assigned tasks
  • Be punctual and maintain minimum attendance requirements
  • Communicate and work well with others
  • Ensure collaborative relationships with co-workers, industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies and Hearthside staff
  • Maintain positive attitude

Proficiency in:

MS Office Suite, SAP, MS Share Point, MS Outlook

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily done in a production setting.
  • Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
